It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us for the First European Spontaneous Preterm Birth Congress in Svendborg, Denmark in May 2014.
Spontaneous preterm labour leading to preterm birth (SPTL & PTB) is one of the major Obstetric Syndromes and the major cause of perinatal mortality and morbidity in the developed world and a huge financial burden on healthcare. The psychosocial costs of PTB are incalculable. The Scientific Committee has prepared a programme which is pragmatic for practicing clinicians as well as those still in training. We have assembled an international panel of speakers who will provide updates on existing problems in the management of SPTL and PTB as well as providing new information on recent developments.
We are also fortunate to host PREBIC (the Preterm Birth International Collaborative) normally nested within WHO, for an International Satellite Meeting. We hope that the Congress will provide the opportunity for future collaborative multidisciplinary and multinational research. The Congress will take place at the Hotel Svendborg, a modern Conference venue in the centre of the picturesque coastal town of Svendborg, in the South East of Fyn in central Denmark. The Old Town and Harbour offer a relaxing background to the Scientific and Clinical Content of the Congress. Bring your family and join new and old friends in Svendborg where we look forward to welcoming you to the First ESPBC.
